Ashford 8Ply Double Knit (DK)
Ashford’s Double Knit Yarn is a semi worsted yarn and a blend of Corriedale and Perendale. Its a traditional Double Knit (DK) weight, 8 Ply yarn with a three-fold twist (simply meaning, three strands plied together). This gives it added durability and wonderful stitch definition. This 8ply double knit yarn is ideal for knitting your next project. The suggested needle sizes being 4-4.5mm (6-7 US). It is also a very popular choice for weaving. The suggested weaving sett of 7.5 – 10dpi and tension 10x10cm (4 x 4″) = 20 – 22sts, 28 rows. You will find it is an easy to care for yarn. Suggested care instructions being hand wash, dry flat, warm iron and dry cleanable.
Ashford Double knit yarn is sold in 100gm balls. Ashfords Double Knit is made from 100% pure New Zealand wool. Grown on sheep farms around New Zealand and spun in a small boutique mill in Hawkes Bay.
Ashford 12 Ply Triple Knit (TK)
Ashfords’ 12ply Triple Knit / Aran yarn is a beautiful blend of finer micron Corriedale and Perendale. It is carefully selected for its softness, strength and versatility. Perfect for all knitting, weaving and crochet projects.
When knitting with this beautifully soft yarn, Ashford recommend needle sizes of 5.00 – 5.50mm (8 – 9 us). When planning out your next crochet project the suggested hook size is5 – 6mm (8/h – 10/i us). It is also a very popular weaving yarn. Suggested weaving sett: 5 – 7.5dpi reed (20 – 30/10) and tension 17 – 18 sts x 22 rows = 10cm (4″). Care instructions are simply “hand wash”

Merino 4Ply
This fine 100% Merino 4ply (fingering) weight yarn, is beautifully soft to the touch. In fact at The Good Yarn, it is one of of favourites because of how wonderful it is to handle. The unique higher twist construction of four finely spun singles plied together gives the finished yarn a sleek look with fabulous stitch definition which is less prone to pilling and abrasion.
This light, airy, warm yet very durable yarn and gets even better as it is machine washable. It is incredibly versatile and suitable for all kinds of knitting, from babywear through to adult garments, accessories, shawls and blankets. It comes in 50gm balls with length of 200m (218yds) per 50gm ball
