Types of weaving looms

Rigid Heddle Looms

By far one of the most popular weaving looms we sell is the Rigid Heddle Loom. It is the perfect combination of functionality and ease. The rigid heddle loom is popular due to its affordability, portability and versatility. These looms are quick and simple to assemble. Getting its name from the resourceful rigid heddle that enables the weaver to easily lift and lower the warp. The rigid heddle also spreads the warp to a fixed width and consistently spaces the yarn. These are popular amongst beginner and experienced weavers.

Knitters Loom

The Knitters loom is ultra-portable, which makes it’s a very popular choice. Especially for those weavers that like to take their projects with them. They are lightweight, compact and fold in half,  even with your weaving in place. As an added bonus they come with  built in second heddle option and are easy and fast to assemble

Inkle Looms

An Inkle Loom is designed to create long, very strong braids. They are made from Silver Beech hard wood and very strongly constructed. Inkle Looms are easier than you think to use and are a great way to start your weaving journey. Especially for beginners. These types of loom can be used to create some incredibly beautiful pieces. Weave intricate patterns and embellish with different types of yarns, beads and colours. Make trims, tassels, bands, straps, chokers, dog leads and more. This style of weaving is a type of warp-faced weaving where the shed is created by manually raising or lowering the warp yarns.
