Double Knit (DK) Yarn

100% pure New Zealand wool, grown, prepared and spun in New Zealand Ashford is very proud of its own DK Yarn. 100% pure New Zealand wool grown on sheep farms around New Zealand and spun in a small boutique mill in Hawkes Bay. This semi worsted yarn is a blend of Corriedale and Perendale, a traditional Double Knit (DK) weight yarn with a three-fold twist (three strands plied together) to give durability and great stitch definition. Ideal for knitting, weaving and knit/felt garments, accessories and projects.

Corriedale wool

Corriedale wool has a defined, even crimp and is smooth and easy to spin or felt. You can spin a fine to medium woollen, worsted or semi-worsted yarn. Corriedale will bulk after washing and has good elasticity. It is ideal for baby wear, woven, knitted, crocheted or felted garments.

Mulberry silk

Mulberry silk is pure white and is produced from silk worms which have fed on Mulberry leaves. Silk is pure luxury. Silk has many qualities. As well as its natural sheen, it is strong, resistant to pilling, and the long fibres make it easy to spin. It looks stunning when dyed and blends beautifully with other fibres.
