Weaving Starter Kit Monochrome

A learning curve is happening. I think I did my weaving ends (edges like in the selvedges in fabric lengths, too tight. I assembled the frame as per instruction but the frame kept loosening. Despite warping up firmly and tying off the warp thread, I think these tapestry frames need butterfly screws to keep the frame in position when weaving and the butterfly screws would allow you to keep the frame firm while weaving.,My first go at it. The end warp threads would be pulled in at the sides and the tapestry edges started curving , pulling in at the sides. I am using yarn and fibre provided with the kit. I might try thick rubber bands to keep frame secured at corners while weaving or use rubber band across the top and across the base of frame to keep the frame together and secure while weaving.

The frame is neat and nicely finished and looks good but the connecting wood frame slots are not firm enough to keep the frame securely together. I bought the smaller Ashford tapestry frame.

Apart from the loose frame issue , I am enjoying the process of learning to weave and doing more weaving. Maybe I will upgrade to a Rigid Heddle Loom later on but at present this is a good way to start. You do need to pay attention do need to pay attention to your over and under warp threads if you’re following a pattern . Having the right tools to start with is a good idea!, I’ve invested in a few to start off so I would recommend it. It’s also a portable size too and light weight for transporting. Keep your instructions & patterns handy and your weaving accessories and tools handy and you’ve got a ready to go craft when you want to craft.

I will undo and start again. The frame slotted in but keeps moving.

It's great. I am mostly bed bound and can easily use it. Great size for place mats and little bags etc. Good price too. Thankyou
