Ashford Ball Winder

Excellent ball winder. I have used the smaller plastic ones in the past and while they do the job with this one I was able to wind an entire jumbo roll in one hit. Really glad I got this.

Received winder last week. Took a very long time from ordering it to being delivered. Months. Absolutely happy with it. So smooth.

The Ashford Ball Winder really does make the job easier and quicker and produces consistent balls of wool (or whatever yarn you are using). I've used it both with skeins of wool and also with my Lazy Kate and it works well either way. If you are winding a skein you do need an umbrella swift or equivalent skein holder as well, so if your budget is limited, I would suggest you get that first (as you can hand-wind balls from that) and then get the ball winder.

The instructions tell you to turn the handle clockwise. As a lefty, I am inclined to turn anti-clockwise. So long as you are consistent, both work.

Worth the price as this is a smooth, well built machine that winds large and small cakes with equal ease.
